A new baby named Jack {minus the baby}

It sometimes happens,

that a baby is born.

I don't talk a lot about my brother Johnny.

He is the baby in our family.

He is very special of course!

 I think he is 30 now.

Today he had his third kid.

Well, he didn't actually produce the kid of course-

his wife Joey did.

I haven't gone to the hospital to see the baby yet.

My Daddy called and basically FORBID me from coming...

so I abstained : )

 See, Joanna is not like our family at all.

She is quiet and calm and peaceful.

The Leatherman part of the family is a little bit psycho.

We try to hide it...but it always comes out.

Oh well.

 Never fear though,

tomorrow is a new day.

I am almost positive I will be allowed to see the baby tomorrow.

I can hardly wait.

 Katelyn and Jacob got to see the baby tonight via the window in the hospital.

They thought he was cute.

And tiny.

 We are all so excited about the baby.

Babies make life better : )

Life has been abundantly beautiful as of late.

I am so thankful for shooting opportunitues

  

and babies that are growing.

 I am thankful for dancing girls

 and kitten kisses.

 Thankful for beautiful leaves,

 beautiful cuddles,

 and beautiful moments.

I am thankful for memories of Shoshi and Juan.

Thankful for my middle schooler who is learning the ropes.

Thankful for babies that can wear onsies on 70 degree fall days!

 Very thankful for Levi and his tractor!

And last of all, and perhaps best of all,

I am thankful for love.

Look for it. 

It's everywhere.

i heart faces

I was walking down the street when I was accosted 

by a particularly dirty and shabby-looking homeless woman 

who asked me for a couple of 
dollars for dinner.

I took out my wallet, got out ten dollars and asked,

“If I give you this money, will you buy wine with it instead of dinner?”


“No, I had to stop drinking years ago,” the homeless woman told me.

“Will you use it to go shopping instead of buying food?” 

I asked.
 “No, I don’t waste time shopping,” the homeless woman said. 

“I need to

 spend all my time trying to stay alive.”

“Will you spend this on a beauty salon instead of food?” I asked.
 

“Are you NUTS!?!” replied the homeless woman. 

“I haven’t had my hair 
done in 20 years!”

“Well,” I said, “I’m not going to give you the money. 

Instead, I’m going to take you out for dinner with my husband and me tonight.” 

The homeless woman was shocked.

 “Won’t your husband be furious with 
you for doing that? 

I know I’m dirty, and I probably smell pretty 
disgusting.”

I said, “That’s okay. It’s important for him to see what a woman looks

 like 

after she has given up shopping, hair appointments, and wine.”
