We always prided ourselves on having the most yellow flowers (also know as dandelions….)

  The flowers of Spring are so magical.

And so is Sofia.

My 3 year old lunch date,

who begged for a picture.

I used to have to beg and plead

her to let me take just one.

Can you believe how she is growing?

I love her so much. The prettiest light.

I have been such a slacker with them lately-

so, I was bound and determined to whip up a great post today

using one of her prompts.

What would you do differently today

if you were starting a blog?

Well…

I started my blog because some of my very good friends from college had blogs.

Gretchen, Danielle, Kari, Stephanie. Kristi and Erica.

I loved reading about their little adventures.

Gary had just married Kaish and I

and I knew we were going to have some adventures of our own

AND, I did have the cutest kid in the entire universe…  At first I was nervous to tell people about my blog.

It wasn’t very exciting for a while.

My posts were long and way too wordy.

When I discovered I Heart Faces

a whole new world opened up for me.

Now I take pictures every single day.

I love it.

I am passionate about it.

It relaxes me!

Have fun blogging.

Meet other people.

Despite what you may think

this {thing called blogging} is NOT all about you.

I get super annoyed when people don’t ever say hi and comment back.

Now, of course, if you are a super star blogger,

you don’t have to comment and say hi back.

But even some of the super star bloggers I know

go out of their way to say hi when they can.

Relax?! Who can relax?

You know the site communal global, right?

Well, they are starting this new meme on Tuesdays.

Tomorrow’s theme is

What helps me relax?

I asked Gary how I relax and he laughed.

Hard.

And long.

He thinks I am sort of uptight…

and always on the go.

He might be right. 

Relaxing is not my forte.

I told him I positively rock at relaxing in the Summer.

Kaish and Naji and Bria love the pool

so we go at least 5 times a week.

The only thing you can do at the pool is relax.

I read.

Lots and lots of books.

I am getting so excited for Summer this year.

Bring it on!

I am ready to relax.

Gary relaxes by getting a massage from Kaish

after work.

Did I tell you that Gary works 7 days a week?

He doesn’t get to relax too much.

He loves relaxing.

I asked Kaish if he relaxes and he told me no.

I said ‘what about when you are riding your bike?’

He said ‘that is riding and not relaxing.’

I said ‘what about when you are playing with your friends?’

He said ‘that is playing and not relaxing.’

I said ‘what about when you are watching tv?’

He told me he doesn’t really consider that relaxing either

because he has to think.

Poor thing.

Here I thought he was relaxing all the time…

Regis: "Barbara, you've done very well so far - $500,000 and one lifeline left -- phone a friend.
The next question will give you the top prize of One Million dollars if you get it right ... but if you get it wrong you will drop back to $32,000 -- are you ready?"
Barbara: "Sure, I'll have a go!"
Regis: "Which of the following birds does not build it's own nest?
Is it........
A-Robin
B-Sparrow
C-Cuckoo
D-Thrush
Remember Barbara its worth 1 Million dollars."
"I think I know who it..but I'm not 100%...
No, I haven't got a clue. I'd like to phone a friend Regis, just to be sure.
Regis: "Yes, who, Barbara, do you want to phone?
Barbara: "I'll phone my friend Maggie back home in Birmingham."
(ringing)
Maggie (also a blonde): "Hello..."
Regis: "Hello Maggie, its Regis here from Who Wants to be a Millionaire-I have Barbara here and she is doing really well on $500,000, but needs your help to be a Million.
The next voice you hear will be Barbara's and she'll read you the question.
There are 4 possible answers and 1 correct answer and you have 30 seconds to answer -- fire away Barbara."
Barbara: "Maggie, which of the following birds does not build it's own nest? Is it:
A-Robin
B-Sparrow
C-Cuckoo
D-Thrush"
Maggie: "Oh Gees, Barbara that's simple.....It's a Cuckoo."
Barbara: "You think?"
Maggie: "I'm sure."
Barbara: " Thanks Maggie." (hangs up)
Regis: "Well, do you want to stick on $500,000 or play on for the Million, Barbara?"
Barbara: "I want to play, I'll go with C-Cuckoo"
Regis: "Is that your final answer?"
Barbara: "It is."
Regis: "Are you confident?"
Barbara: "Yes fairly, Maggie's a sound bet."
Regis: "Barbara.....you had $500,000 and you said C-Cuckoo ...you're right! - You have just won ONE MILLION DOLLARS.
Here is your check. You have been a great contestant and a real gambler. Audience please put your hands together for Barbara."
(clapping)
That night Barbara calls round to Maggie and brings her down to a local bar for a celebration drink and, as they are sipping their Champagne, Barbara turns to Maggie and asks "Tell me Maggie, How in the world did you know that it was the Cuckoo that does not build its own nest?
Maggie: "Listen Barbara, everybody knows that a Cuckoo lives in a clock."
