Grammy’s on Sundays

Some Sundays in my City

we go to Grammy’s House.

We do puzzles.And play some more games. We concentrate.  We tell Mommy to ‘Put The Camera Away!’

Of course we fight. And try to steal the remote from Pop Pop! The Sundays we visit Grammy…

well, they are our very best Sundays.

There is no one quite like her on the planet.

And she is all ours.

We love our Grammy!

A Cure for the Winter Blues!

Today was such a bleary day.

I thought maybe I should come home and

do some yoga

 except, I don’t know how

to do yoga!

So. then I thought about coming home and

jumping on some furniture.

That would definitely be sure to relive stress, right?

Unfortunately, I got there too late!

There were already furniture jumpers!

So then I thought maybe I would have a drink.

That would be sure to relax me, right? But then I remembered.

I don’t drink.

I made some chocolate chip cookies

for the couch jumpers instead.

Hats on for Haiti

Kaishon’s school is hosting

a Hats On For Haiti event on Friday.

If you donate .50 you can wear a hat.

This morning I was trying to hand Kaish

.50 to hand in.

And he said he already had some money.

It turns out

my sweet Kaishon

had $42 in his pocket to donate.

He was donating all of his Birthday money.

Every single penny.

And you know what I did?

I tried to talk him out of it.

I really did.

I said,

“Honey, that is ALL of your money.

Remember that Ben Ten toy you want at Toys R Us?”

And he said,

“I’ve seen how bad it is on TV Mom.

They need it more than me.”

And he walked out the door.

I am ashamed that I tried to talk him out of it.

You see, I did give to Haiti.

But I did NOT give everything like Kaishon did.

He teaches me lessons constantly.

He is my heart, that child.

My heart.

Seriously.

My sister, Allison, is having a baby.

WHAT?

You know that her name is NOT Allison!

I just thought I would try to sneak another A

into this post!

Let me tell you something about Betsy.

We are VERY different people.

Like so different,

sometimes I think I was adopted :)

but then I look at my Daddy

and see myself,

so I know that can not be so.

But anyway,

this beautiful sister of mine

does not like girls so much.

When she found out she was having a girl

she cried for a while (like a week or so)

and then she started getting excited!

And pretty soon

we will welcome her baby girl into our family.

And her name will be

Amy.

Ok. Ok. This is getting ridiculous!

No more A’s!

Her name is going to be Brooke.

For real!

Not an A, but a B!

We can’t wait!

Brooke will be joining

Ben and Levi.

Levi is ESPECIALLY excited.

A Dirty House

     Baloney asked me

if there are always kids in our house.

And I told her yes.

When we first moved in,

I assumed it was because

Kaish is SO cool!

(And maybe me too!)

I mean I DO make the fiercest

chocolate chip cookies on the planet…

but one day,

when the kids were being just a tad too bit

LOUD

I suggested they go play at a different house.

And that is when I learned the truth.

Apparently the other mothers

do NOT allow

the hyper children in their houses…

they like to keep the houses clean!

Go figure.

THE INHERITANCE

How often do you get a family picture taken?

We haven’t had one taken since

our vacation in 2008.

I am not a big fan of pictures of myself.

Even as I type that though,

I realize how selfish that is.

We will get one the next time

we have a person available to snap one!

My best friend Jen

is a fantastic present giver. And by fantastic, I mean,

if there is a present with a zillion pieces.

or ridiculous mess capabilities,

she will get it for Kaish! And he just loves her presents. This Christmas she got him this Ice Cream making kit.

When I say it was messy,

well, that just barely covers what it was.

Messy to the max! Jonathon, Shoshi, Maecy and Kaish

had a wonderful time

MAKING          A         MESS! concocting ice cream flavors. The only thing was…

they turned out so terribly

that no one could eat a bite!

Thankfully, we found some ice cream in the freezer

and called it a day!

I wonder what we can do next Sunday.
