Oh my.
Well…. we jumped on trampolines.
And we took a nap here and there.
We ate corn on the cob at the family reunion with Uncle Tom
and we went on riding things with our Daddy.
We smiled a lot! And lost a tooth or 2.
We kissed as many babies as we could while visiting with our cousins.
We hung out with our sun kissed friends!
We made the most of every moment!
We went to Lake Nockamixon and swam and dove and threw rocks!
We squeezed baby Brooke’s cheeks!
And did fireworks with David the Great when he took time off from lawyering to come and visit!
We went on family vacation to Mt. Gretna Lake beach
(as you can see, it was a big hit with little Levi…)
We went on road trips and grew our hair out!
We said goodbye to Naji
and to Shoshi…
but not before turning the town upside down.
We have loved every hot and sticky minute.
Summer is magic in this household!
And we savored each day.
‘I walk without flinching through the burning cathedral of the summer.
My bank of wild grass is majestic and full of music.
It is a fire that solitude presses against my lips.’
~Violette Leduc
What was your favorite thing about
the Summer of 2010?

I could really go for some corn right now.
Summer will be here again before you know it. In the meantime, I'm looking forward to your beautiful fall pictures. I know you're going to have some wonderful ones.
Such wonderful photos capturing all of your fun stuff.
I just love being NON scheduled in summer...well as non scheduled as we can be anyway...
Awesome summer!!! We lost teeth too. Well not me b/c that would not be a good look ;) My favorite thing about summer 2010 -- the beach and the not having to be anywhere.
My summer has been crazy. It was the hottest summer I have experienced here in Arkansas, and I have lived here 29 years. What a wonderful collection of summer photos!
An Arkies Musings
Lots of wonderful things this summer. It was a good one. Great pictures as always. Love Autumn though. That's when my love and I met 16 years ago.
Cheers,
Casey
Those baby's cheeks are magnificent! Wow! Huge cheeks! :-)
Looks like a grand summer indeed!
Loved your summery summary. Ha! GREATEST. TITLE. EVER. just sayin'. But girl. In the midst of the hot, sticky, fun, sugary sweet summer, you had some serious loss. Praying that those holes will be filled with the love of God... and that you'll be able to keep in touch with sweet Shoshi and Naji. My favorite part of summer? Hmm. Sleeping late. No lie. Vacations were great, visiting with friends and family.. check. But sleeping in is my drug of choice.... and having to break the habit when school starts leads to some serious detox. Happy Fall, sweet friend...
a summer filled with love. of course! and never a dull moment, I bet ... :-)
Favorite thing? Hmmm...That's a tough one. We had some sweetcorn last night that was as sweet as candy. We had a wonderful family reunion that could be the last that includes all of my aunts and uncles. We took a nice family trip to Michigan and got a camping trip in. Other than that, it's all a blur :)
Yours looks like heaven. I just love those boys...
I love these pictures so much...and your quotes always rock my world. I really love the one of "growing the hair out"...my son grew his hair out this summer, but it's as opposite of Kaishon's as you could get...blond and going down instead of up! :) I loved his long hair, though. It may be one of my favorite things about the summer. My summer was hard (my kids had a great time visiting family-seven weeks, pretty much), but I lost a baby at the beginning of the summer and it was a hard one (I lost two pregnancies before). I hope that's not too much info. I did love seeing them play in the ocean and on the beach, and I loved being with my mom and dad, playing Scrabble with them, and being with my dear sister-in-law who is, indeed, the sister I never had growing up. Now that I've written a novel, I will go! I hope that your fall is lovely, filled with good things. I know you will be missing some very special people.
Wow, that just makes me want to do summer all over again. I so wish it wouldn't end. Which means now is a good time to send the kids back to school, before we really start getting on each other's nerves!
My favorite thing...yes, I would have to say the days we didn't have anything planned and the kids followed their imaginations. Kid ingenuity is the best!!
Watching Kaishon's hair grow has been one of my summer treats.
Looks like a WONDERFUL (and long) summer. Beautiful pictures, of course.
After living in the San Francisco Bay Area for 63 years and suffering through the summer fog and 50-60 degree weather, these last 3 years have been paradise for me. Our weather is warm to downright hot but its wonderful. Actually being able to have BBQ's and not being miserable and being near Grandkids. That makes Summer for me.
Fantastic summary! Your photos are vibrant with summer.
Favorite thing about this particular summer, I got to go to so many places and had the best fun with my camera ever.
Take care. xxx
My favorite thing about the Summer of 2010 was that I could get my breath on some days without using oxygen. And I was able to go outside with my birds and bees and flowers on cool days. You sure look as handsome as ever and all of your photos are good ones.
I can't think of a thing I liked about it. I like every day but this summer not anything stood out. Your summer, however, was wonderful and I thank you for sharing it with your pictures.
Awesome summer, Becky! ...and congrats on being Angie's and Amy's favorites for last week's challenge! =)

Great summer in your neck of the woods I'd say! Going to miss Shosi smiling face he is a cutie! Hope Kaishon has a wonderful start to school year!! My favorite part of summer was moving home!
we went to Mt. Gretna as well this summer!
And it was a hot sticky summer too! Congrats on being an Angie and Amy's Pick!
great recap of summer! sad to see it go on one hand, but soooo ready for cool, autumn weather.
I've already shared a post of our wonderful summer but my most favorite as always was my visiting granddaughter and son from Florida. As long as I have loved ones living far away, their visits home in the summer will always top the list. :)
I love, love, love your summer fun pictures. As always, your quotes rock. I hope Kaishon has a great school year and I am looking forward to seeing your pictures of fall! Happy Monday to you and yours! XX
Looks like it was a fantastic summer!
Tho it was way too hot, we really enjoyed ours, too. Can't wait to see what Fall holds. :o)
You have the most fantastic eye! I really enjoy your blog and your pictures. Looks like you had a wonderful summer.
Love your summer recap, Becky. Seeing Soshi and Naji's smiles makes me a bit sad, but I'm glad you took advantage of every fun opportunity this summer. Love Kaish's hair long like that--so cute!
almost too many to mention. it was one of the best...looks like yours was too!
Absolutely gorgeous...
and Brooke's cheeks??? Eatable!!!
Pinching the baby's cheeks would be where I would like to be. Love me some babies. Of course that is the grandma in me showing up at all family gatherings!
What a lovely walk through the memories of your summer! My favourite thing this summer was: camping! We still have 2 trips left...I love being away from home with nothing to do but be a family!!!
I'm pretty sure you had the best summer out of all of us!
I'm glad that my summer was drama free. Oh, wait. It wasn't.
Ummmm, I like that this summer was relaxing. For the most part. Yes.
What a glorious summary of your summer ~ still working on mine! :) Where to begin? Where to begin? LOL
Your's certainly told the tale of friendship...both new & old...family,love, spontaneous glee & zest!
Here's hoping your Fall is just as magical!!
Wow - it looks like you've had quite the summer! I've spent most of my summer inside knitting. For money. I'm okay with that. It's too hot here, and my debt is almost paid off! :)
Wow! Gorgeous pics. I have to say visiting my family in Florida for the first time in 5 years.
Great story of a wonderful summer!! My favorite part of summer would have to be Mya's birth! So much joy in the world... isn't there?
By the way... love Kashions hair grown out! He is so handsome!! I also would love to hear how you made your video header...love it!! Please email me at dianalin@aol.com ...if you share your secrets!!!
How do you take such moving and beautiful and fun pictures every time?!:) You always seem to capture that truly special second! Your photos are a treat and it's so inspiring to read your words as well.
I found myself getting teary eyed over the end of summer looking at your photos. I love summer...from the flowers to the family gatherings, there is nothing like it. Now that we are "growers" and busy most of the summer, I need to rethink winter and learn to embrace what the cold gives us...time off. Still, I might need to visit your post again when the summer bug bites me again! Your photos are beautiful!
What a wonderful way to recap your summer!
Fantastic. You make me want to do summer all over again. THen again, I always want that. Great photos!
Looks like you had a fabulous summer! I know this will be the summer I want to forget - but am looking forward to next summer being better!
Great photos! Looks like an awesome summer.
everything a kid could want! And amazing images to document it all... You are super Mom, Becky. :)
You said it right Becky. Your summer was magic - we can see that through your fabulous shots.
But you would spin magic no matter where you were.
:=)
Hugs,
W
LOVE LOVE L♥VE all of the pictures!!! You capture such wonderful moments. Summer is magic. I wish it could last all year, but then it might not be so magical. My favorite part of Summer 2010 was spending extra time with Isaiah, watching the Cubbies play, and going to Indiana.
♥
What a beautiful and busy summer! Love all of the pictures!!!!
I mean, that sounds like a perfectly lovely wonderful summer! :-) I love it (and especially the grown-out hair!)
Your pictures always speak volumes about LOVE! Let's see, one of my favorite things about the summer of 2010 was going to Mayfield Diary Farms for some of the best ice cream cones anywhere! It's a tradition for me and my girls! :)
looks like you had a wonderful summer. Love the pic of the sun kissed friends.
I loved your post! Why does summer ending this year seem more dramatic than usual?
I loved the beach trip I got to take with just my immediate little family for the first time ever. It was relaxing and perfect! I really soaked it in as a great memory of their littleness!
Wow quite the summer. :) Awesome!
So glad to "meet" you ! I absolutely love your photos and your beautiful way with words ! Very talented and enthusiastic ! We are in PA, but near Franklin/oil city right on the allegheny river. Very peaceful ! I plan on visiting your blog often as you're very inspirational and who can't use that in their lives ?!!
hey you! sorry i haven't seen your blog in a few days. i wasn't with my normal computer so i didn't have my blogroll but now i am following so all is good. my fav thing about this summer of course is what i have been posting about. just being a first time mom. learning to be a housewife. learning that life may not go as perfectly as you planned but there is unexpected joy around every corner. hope u enjoy your week!
Thanks again for sgaring your summer with us.
What a beautiful post! I need to do a end of summer post... can I please just find a moment to do this stuff! And new things are heading my way again... starting today I am getting ready to change my entire life... should I share it with you or keep it a secret... maybe I will think about that for awhile? :D If you beg maybe I will share my secret!
I look forward to ALL your posts. And this one was just AMAZING as well.
What a beautiful capture of so much fun and memories to cherish.
