1.) Describe a time when you had difficulty communicating with someone who speaks a different language than you.
Every day I have a difficult time communicating
with some people:![]()
Jonathon is from Poland and he can speak Polish.
Shoshi is from Bangladesh and he can speak Hindi.
Juan is from Columbia and he speaks in Spanish.
Do you think I have a hard time communicating because of all those languages?
Oh no.
Their native tongue is not the problem at all!
I can’t communicate with them because they speak ‘boy’
And for the life of me…
I just can NOT understand that language!

I love these boys!
They make life grand.
What languages do you speak?

Boys do definitely have their own language!
Baby girl. I honestly think I speak baby girl.
They DO have their own language! That is so true.
Lovely photos :) I only speak English and a little Dutch because of my Granmama.
K xx :)
I understand a little "boy-speak" but I'm not completely fluent...yet!
By the way those boys are gorgeous!
LOL...yeah, I understand boys can be difficult to understand. I'm still trying to figure out my husband..lol!
I don't speak boy either. I've been trying for 40 years and no luck. CUTE post.
I totally understand your problem. :)
I can only speak English. I'm bad bad bad with languages.

Oh yes, I have 2 boys and still I don't speak "boy" nor do I understand many of the things they do, but I love them like crazy anyway!
I mean seriously what is up with that? I have four boys...one going to be a freshman in high school next year, you would THINK I would've got it by now lol. Crazy things.
Now that my boys are grown, I get to hear a bit of "girl" talk from their significant others and I am lovin'it!
This is a wonderful post. Good thing you speak the language of FOOD! :)
oh my! I certainly have no clue what my boy is saying half the time..and it's not because he's 2 1/2..he can speak very clearly and is quite articulate! Are you saying it's only going to get worse?? LOL
most people don't know that I speak Hungarian fluently..I was born and raised in Hungary till the ripe age of 6!
Great pics once again!
Out of 20 of my students they speak 11 different languages- not counting "boy!"
lMnop
Love this post and pictures, that last one of Kaishon seriously how do you stop kissing that adorable boy, Please tell me he lets his momma kiss those cheeks! Everyday I encounter this lets just say I speak in charades. If we ever play that game together you want me on your team!
Yup, boys have their own language entirely.
I speak English, Hebrew, some French (used to be fluent but I've forgotten a lot) and pig latin :).

I've entered a major international photo competition (details are on my blog) and would be most grateful if you'd click through and rate my portfolio (just click on the stars at the bottom (preferably the 5th star - "fantastic" - LOL), easy peasy, no registration or personal details needed). Thanks so much!
BRILLIANT BLOG! So, so true ~ but I know one thing the language of boys is filled with silliness and humour because they laugh so much it's contagious!! :D
I think my son speaks the same lingo, 'cause I can't understand him half the time!
Oh I understood "boy" just fine--until mine hit about age 14! That's when it all went crazy. :)
They do have their own language. Especially love that last shot.
This is my fear of having male kids - I just won't know how to get through!
I love the language of "boy." I have two boys, and they are so easy and wonderful!
I am fluent in "girl" language, which is a bummer at times, for example when my two girls are acting like little divas!
That is so funny. I don't get boys either.
I am however, fluent in sarcasm.
Great photos of the boys! Wow, it's amazing that you are surrounded by so many different ethnicity! I think that's awesome!
Haha, I speak "boy"...at least the "gamer boy". Not very fluent with speaking "girl" oddly enough.
Brilliant post! I love how you broke them out one by one and then had the photo of them all together.
And I don't speak boy either ... or Man!
Gorgeous boy faces. Boys rock. Most days I have no clue what my boys are talking about but it is so much better than girl drama. :)
Oh so true I don't understand boy language--great post and I did something like it too.
I think I speak boy. Sort of. I still don't get the throw things at your face male bonding thing.
I used to be able to speak Russian and Yiddish when I was a kid and my Nana was around
but I have lost the ability
I love all these sweet boys
I think you also speak "ice treats" :)
I love this post because I love little boys and am very fascinated by their language. Great pictures!
Yes, I speak boy too. I honestly believe that there is a reason we don't have girls. :)
Isn't it funny how you sometimes have to stop and realize that they are thinking like boys and you are thinking like a girl?
Are they all your sons?
LOL...I don't speak boy either.
I don't speak boy well either, specifically teenage boy. Why didn't they come with handbooks? lol Great post!
Come on over to my place and see who's in time out for my Writer's Workshop piece. See you soon!
Kristi, Live and Love...Out Loud
@TweetingMama
I figure once I finally figure out child, they will move on to teenager when they will only communicate in grunts and slammed doors!
Thanks for stopping by!
I speak midwestern, woman, and mommy. All great languages!
I for one have learned to speak bipolar since my hubby has bipolar disorder. It has helped me communicate with him so much. Love the photos of the boys. Amazing, all the different languages spoken and they can hang out together no problem.
"They speak boy." I love that. Awesome.
LOL...I think girls have their own language too
great photos as always.
i luckily don't have to learn "boy" because i'm certain i would be a mess.
i speak russian or rather i used to :)
*My* girls speak English and Japanese. :-)

Nuts in May
I know a very minute amount of Spanish and I think I am going to have to try to become VERY fluent in boy talk.
Cute post!!
I thought for sure you were going to say that the easiest way to communicate with boys is to feed them lol
Boys are the best! What an awesome post..."The language of boys." LOVE it!
I speak English and a small bit of French...
Hahaha, this is awesome!! I LOVE it. Right now, my boy is three months, so I definitely can't understand him... but from the looks of things, that might not change too much! :)

The universal language of boy, yikes...
I was just talking with someone else today about how I only speak English, and how I feel like perhaps I should change that.
You pictures are wonderful, such sweet faces!
Ohhhh I speak boy....at least that is what everyone tells me. When I first found out I was having my oldest boy everyone and their mother said "It's a good thing you are having a boy, because you will make a far better mom to a boy than a girl" Now what do you suppose that means? I can be girly, I love the color pink!
Unfair. As a boy I think it is girls that have their own language!
Boys are pretty straight forward. If it moves or explodes it is neat. Girls, not so simple.
What a handsome brood you have around you!
(LOVE Dan's response, above.)
I love this post! Love it.
What a beautiful bunch of boys!
They are all so adorable. I rarely speak to my kids any more...they respond better to texts. Good grief.
Beautiful post. And my boy spreaks boys too and it is sooo hard to understand :).
I speak Dutch.
I can speak German ... My parents are from Germany, and they brought me up speaking both German and English ... I used to speak it much better than I do now, because I don't have the opportunity to speak it much anymore.
I agree with boy language. The only language I speak and understand is english. Now I understand a little sign language. Our dil is a sign language intreputer and she has taught the boys sign language so I needed to understand lots till they started talking. Thanks for stopping by my blog and saying hi. I miss your awesome photos. I have to stop by more often
I love this. They speak boy. What fantastic photos of them too.
Apparently they all speak Otter Pop as well...or Mr. Freeze. Popsicles are universal.
Ah yes, they do speak boy. I don't think I ever mastered it completely with my own 2. they are men now and I think the language has gotten more discernable.
Love these pictures Becky. You really capture their essence.
So true! Kaishon has an amazing little set of friends, doesn't he?
Oh Lawdy! I'm in for it then, aren't I? I sure don't speak boy and I'll be in so much trouble when this little man comes along. LOL
Great pictures! Such handsome boys!
They seem to speak frozen treat language too.
Pictures are great. you have some really nice lighting on some of these. That is my problem. I am not big on flashes but need some extra lighting in faces. I think I need to buy some reflectors to help in this. Any tips? I think we are seeing Shrek 3 this week (:
