Memorial Day weekend is a great beginning to Summer.
There is the joy of having off from school and work.
There is the christening of barbeques all over the United States.
There is the parade, and the carnival and the abundant happiness,
![]()
but most of all, there is the intense honor
we all share as we remember and celebrate
the men and women who have served
and continue to serve our country.
What members of your family
have served in the military?
My Uncle Don, Uncle Ray, and Uncle Rich
and best friend David have all served in the army.

I try to say thank you every time I see a man or woman in uniform.
I am deeply thankful for the service they provide.

God Bless and keep the men and women fighting for our freedom. I've been involved with the DAV, the VFW and all aspects of the armed forces for sometime!
My uncle was in the military after he graduated high school, but I don't think he ever served. Those are wonderful pictures! We don't have our fair until October. It always seems to take forever to get here. The swings are my favorite hands down, by far, and so forth -- I love them! And the vinegared French fries, the cotton candy, the fried ice cream...oh man, make me stop. Lol. I just love the fair. It's one of my favorite events of the year! :D That and my hometown's local festival.
That my friend is an official start to summer activity. Love the pictures so great and colorful. I'm a cotton candy girl and I don't share my sugar! Just in case you wanted a bite gotta buy your own...heehee! I agree thank god for the men and women fighting for our freedom, I'm thankful and proud.
What a great post, I love the photography. Made me want to go to the fair. I really really like candy floss.
Thank you also for all the quotes.
Although not from America, our family was also a military family till I was 7. My Dad joined the army as soon as he could and then retired from it to become a forester. I have many photos of him holding me in front of tanks and military places.
They are all heroes, defending our freedom.
Have a super Sunday. xxx
Beautiful post.
PEACE!
Happy SIMC greetings from Casablanca, Morocco!

These boys were having such a good time, lots to see and do. The one picture of two of them walking up the metal stairs almost makes me dizzy. Great shot.
Freedom is never free...ain't that the truth. I love these pictures. I can't wait until my daughter is old enough that I can take her to fairs and carnivals. I love cotton candy, but I'm not allowed to have it because sugar makes me spastic. I still sneak it and my husband can always tell when I've had too much sugar.
I want that banana!! Beautiful photos:) Have a wonderful week!
